These rules are strictly enforced, with serious breaches often leading to suspension or dismissal.
The School rules have been developed by the school Management and approved by the school Board of Governors. They reflect the school community’s expectations in terms of acceptable standards of behavior, dress and personal presentation in the widest sense.
Students are expected to follow the school rules at all times when on the school grounds,representing the school attending a school activity or when clearly associated with the school i.e when wearing school uniform.

Given it is an all-boarding school, stringent rules govern student conduct and living arrangements:
1 Discipline is an integral part of the learning process, to develop self control and to live in harmony with others, respect family traditions and keep the law of the country.
2. Every student shall endeavor to make the school proud by excelling in studies and good manners.Politeness, Courtesy in speech and conduct as well as cleanliness and grace of person are to be cherised.
3. Students are representatives of our school from leaving home until they return and are thus expected to set themselves a high standard of behaviors both inside and outside the school
(A) To attend all school programs.
(B) To respect the right of other to learn
(C) To respect their peers and teachers regardless of ethnicity , religion of gender
(D) To respect the property and equipment of the school and fellow students.
(E) To carry out reasonable instructions to the best of their ability.
(F) To conduct themselves in a courteous and appropriate manner in school and in public.
(G) To keep the school environment and the local community free from litter.
(H) To observe the uniform code of the school.
(I) To read all school notices and bring them to their parents'/guardians' attention.
(J) To attend all lessons, take notes, do tests and examinations.
All parents of Gombe Secondary school are expected to:
(A) Bring their children to school on the day appointed by the school administration.
(B) Ensure that their children be dressed and groomed in a manner consistent with the students school dress code
(C) Ensure that the education of their child(ren) is a joint responsibility of the parents and the school community
(D) Take the responsibility and care of regularly inquiring on whether their children attend classes regularly and on time
(E) Ensure that absence of their children from the school is duly reported to the school administration and recorded.
(F) Help their children to know school rules and regulations and help their children understand them
(G) Inform the school administration of any charges in the home situation, where appropriate, that may affect conduct or performance
(H) Build good relationships with teachers, other school's employees, other' parents and their children's friends
(I)To help their children deal and learn their responsibilities at school and home
(M)Come to school whenever invited by the administration
(N) I is mandatory for the parent to disclose to the school authority the health status of his/her child
(O) Parents should dress decently whenever they come to school.i.e according to the norms and culture of the school
(A)Every student must attend regular prayers conducted by different religion affiliations as organised and known by the school administration.
(B)Prayers must be compulsory and in congregation .
(C) Prayer times as gazetted by the school must be strictly observed.
(A)The school uniform should be worn tidily and correctly both at the school and between home and school.The full school uniform must be worn at all times. Shirts are to be tucked in; socks are to be pulled up; heel straps in place.The trousers must retouching the shoes and the bottom should be between 14-16 inches
The skirts should be the ankles' height.Where a situation arises concerning student's uniform, written requests for temporary wearing of non-regulation items must be referred to in-charge of sickbay,warden, matron, in-charge of uniform or deputy head teacher depending on the situation
(B)Students are to be clean-shaven at all times while representing the school
(C)No Jewellery is to be worn,Jewellery of religious or cultural significance may be worn but must be covered at all times
(D)A student's hair must be kept clean and tidy at all times. The length of the hair should no exceed a "number 2" razor cut. The style of the hair should not be limited to Mohawk, Afro, Shaved styles and/or patterns, hair tied up and braided. The colour must be the student's own natural colour; no dye nor highlights are allowed.
(E) Make-up must not be worn.Student's are not permitted to have visible tattoos
(F)Caps(Topees),hats, outdoor boots, and coats are not worn in classrooms Expect during Co-curricular Programs
(G)If the staff determines that a student's attire or appearance is not appropriate the students will not be permitted to attend classes until appropriate dress or appearance is available or collected
(H)All uniforms (class and Casual)must be obtained from school
(I) Girls must put on white socks and boys can put on any Colour
(A) The school body shall have leadership elected by the student's body on the approval of the school administration which will assist the school administration in carrying out is duties.
(B) The students' leadership shall include Prefects, Religious leaders, house/Dormitory leader Form Captains and class councils.
(C) The students leadership shall help in implementation of the school rules and policies passed by the school Management
(D) Every student shall obey and respect students' leaders and participate in their activities
(A) No students:
1 Shall disobey an order from the Head teacher and or any member of staff or being insolent to any student leader or any group employee or support staff
(2) Shall act in a manner that brings bad repuatation or contempt to the school e.g misbehaving when out or in presence of visitors
(B) Any Student who fails to do the right thing in the right place at the right time and in the event that the student breaches the above mentioned rules the school administration shall administer an appropriate punishment depending on the gravity of the offense
No students shall be involved in romantic relationship/indulgence in unhealthy relationship and any student caught and is found guilty by the school administration shall be punished by the school management.
Theft or possession of stolen property is prohibited and is punishable by expulsion from school upon being convicted and the decision must be confirmed by the Board of Governors upon recommendation by the school Disciplinary committee.
(A) Electronics Devices (such as cell phones & Ipods,Laptops) or devices of a similar nature are strictly Forbidden in school:
1.Students may use them in class as learning devices with the express permission of the teacher
2. If a student uses a devices inappropriately, or in contravention of the school's policy, he or shall will be sanctioned accordingly.
(B). If a student is seen with one of these, it will be confiscated and handed to the Deputy Headmaster or other school official and the device will not be given back
Rules of Student behavior in school are for the benefit of all. Rules are developed to ensure the greatest freedom to the number of people.The following school rules were developed in order that students may work successfully with each other and their teachers. The following are strictly forbidden in school when students are under school activity or attending a school function.
(A) Smoking and the use of alcohol or other drugs, or being in the company of those who are smoking or using alcohol or drugs.
(B) Distributing of literature or any form of written matter (without the prior permission of the Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster)
(C) Chemicals
(D) Cigarettes or Tobacco
(E) Knives or other Weapons, including guns
(F) Matches/Lighters/Explosive or dangerous Material
(G) Pornographic or any other offensive material
(H) Cameras unless authorised
(I) All students are expected to show courteous behavior towards each other and staff, and visitors
(J) In order to promote safety, students should go only to those sections of the building where they have been scheduled.
(K) Students should not trespass
(L) In order to avoid disorderly or dangerous situations, students should follow directions from teachers in class or other school personnel.
(M) Gang and gang-like activity will not be tolerated
(N) Cursing , Woofing, threating people, Fighting and attacking people are prohibited.
(O) Gambling, Stealing and destroying property are prohibited.
(P) Remaining in dormitory while everyone is out is criminal
(Q) Driving or riding anything on school compound is not allowed
(R) Going to staff quarters is not allowed
(S) Sharing of beds or sleeping together on the same bed is strictly forbidden
(T) Reading or being in possession of pornography material:books,CDS,flashes etc.
Any form, verbal or physical, or any means of bullying or victimisation is strictly forbidden and it is a very serious offense
It is the responsibility of very student in the school to ensure that the school is free from littler.Students are also encouraged to take the responsibility for litter in their immediate vicinity and place any litter in the many Dust bins placed around the school
(A) No student shall be absent from class without sufficient reason.
Parents/Guardian must clearly state the reason for the absence in the leave record of the school dairy.Students are not allowed to go out of the campus during school hours, including recess time.
(B) Those who absent themselves without prior permission shall not enter the class without the deputy Head teacher's permission. Unauthorised absence for more than 14 days will lead to removal from the rolls (class register)
